KUB Emergency Exercise Drill near Campus August 8

The Knoxville Utilities Board will hold a full-scale chlorine emergency exercise drill near the UT Institute of Agriculture campus on Neyland Drive Thursday, August 8.

While the exercise will not affect the university, KUB wants to make the campus community aware to minimize cause for alarm. Drivers and passersby will see numerous emergency vehicles in the area.

The chlorine exercise will take place from 8 a.m. to noon at KUB’s Kuwahee Wastewater Treatment Plant. It will simulate several incidents including a major chlorine leak or release, an injured person rescue, and an evacuation.
