A new safety video developed by and for college students aims to educate on the dangers of off-campus housing fires. “Alarming Truth” is a short video telling the story of an off-campus residence fire and its aftermath. Students from Rowan University wrote, filmed, and produced this video. Since 2000, the majority of campus related housing fire deaths have been from off-campus housing.
Off-campus housing is more challenging for universities and colleges because they can’t monitor occupants with residence staff like they can with on-campus housing.
