  • Postpone outdoor activities
  • Stay indoors until 30 minutes after lightning has stopped
  • Monitor weather for local conditions
  • Avoid even shallow flood waters

  • Activate alarm and alert others
  • Exit the building using the stairs
  • Call 911 from the assembly area


  • Seek shelter and alert others
    • Interior space without windows
    • Low in the building as possible
    • Protect your head and neck
    • Use sturdy furniture as cover
  • Monitor for updates
  • Stay until tornado has passed


  • RUN
    • If you are outside near the threat
    • If inside with the shooter and you have a clear escape
    • Take others with you if possible
    • Show empty hands to police
  • HIDE
    • If shooters location is unclear
    • Lock and barricade doors
    • Reduce signs of people in the room
    • Use available protection
    • Remain until directed otherwise
  • FIGHT
    • As a last resort
    • Improvise weapons
    • Work as a group
    • Commit to your actions
  • Prepare for police response
    • Follow all instructions
    • Show empty hands
    • Expect their priority to be addressing the shooter
    • Share any important information


  • Call 911, do NOT hang up
  • Do not move victim unless necessary
  • Send person to direct emergency responders


  • Duck, Cover, and Hold On
  • Take shelter under furniture
  • DO NOT, try to move during the quake
  • Exit damage buildings after the quake
  • Prepare for aftershocks


  • If safe to do so, contain the spill
  • Secure the lab if possible
  • Evacuate the area
  • Call 911 for highly hazardous spills
  • DO NOT reenter until cleared


  • Go to interior room and close off windows and doors
  • Seal doors with plastic or tape if possible
  • Turn off or block ventilation systems
  • Be prepared to evacuate if directed
