National Weather Service Issues Heat Advisory

A heat advisory has been issued for Knox County for this afternoon and early evening.  Temperatures are expected to around 100 degrees in the Knoxville area with heat index values soaring to 105 degrees.  Precautions are to avoid outdoor strenuous activities.  If you have to be outside in the heat, slow down, take frequent rest breaks, drink plenty of non-alcoholic fluids, and wear light weight, loose fitting clothes.  Know the symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke (See medical emergency button).  For full NWS advisory go to http://forecast.weather.gov/showsigwx.php?warnzone=TNZ069&warncounty=TNC093&firewxzone=TNZ200&local_place1=Knoxville+TN&product1=Heat+Advisory
