The university will test the UT Alert mass notification system at 12:40 p.m. Friday, September 10. As part of the test, campus blue phones and most fire alarms will be activated.


The Knox County Health Department has recognized the University of Tennessee, Knoxville’s efforts to keep the campus community safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. The health department this week awarded UT a Community Commitment Certificate.


UT is coordinating with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Tennessee Department of Health, the Knox County Health Department, and international health safety and security agencies to closely monitor the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.


The university will test the UT Alert mass notification system at 1:10 p.m. Friday, February 21. As part of the test, campus blue phones and fire alarms will be activated.


The Office of Emergency Management will test a component of the UT Alert messaging service called “I’m Okay.” It is a polling feature that allows users to self-report their status. The test will occur at 1:10 p.m. on Friday, October 25.


The university plans to test the UT Alert mass notification system at 1:10 p.m. Friday, September 27. As part of the test, campus blue phones and fire alarms will be activated.


The Knoxville Utilities Board will hold a full-scale chlorine emergency exercise drill near the UT Institute of Agriculture campus on Neyland Drive Thursday, August 8. While the exercise will not affect the university, KUB wants to make the campus community aware to minimize cause for alarm.


This weekend’s violent attacks in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio, often raise concerns in our community. The UT campus has multiple resources and training available.
